Take-Back of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Information in accordance with EU Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
1. Separate collection
Electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with unsorted household waste. As an end user, you are legally obliged to dispose of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) separately from household waste and to hand it over to a designated collection point for proper treatment, recovery and recycling.
Before disposal, please remove any batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the device, as well as lamps that can be removed without destruction, and dispose of them separately.
2. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol
The symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin, which is regularly displayed on electrical and electronic equipment, indicates that the respective device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.
3. Your options for returning old appliances
Owners of waste equipment from private households can return it free of charge to the collection points set up by the public waste management authorities or to the take-back points set up by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the applicable national law.
As a distributor, we are obliged to take back old appliances. Depending on your country, you have the following options:
- 1:1 take-back: When you purchase a new electrical or electronic device, you can return an old device of an equivalent type, which essentially fulfils the same functions as the new device, free of charge.
- 0:1 take-back: You can return small waste appliances (no external dimension larger than 25 cm) free of charge, without purchasing a new device, subject to the quantity limits applicable in your country.
To arrange a return, please contact us using the details below. We will inform you of the specific return option available in your country (e.g. a return label or the nearest collection point).
4. Country-specific collection points
The conditions and collection points for WEEE differ between EU member states. To find the correct disposal or collection point in your country, please use the official municipal collection points or contact your local waste management authority. We are happy to assist you in identifying the appropriate take-back option.
5. Data protection
As an end user, you are responsible for deleting any personal data stored on the waste equipment before disposal.
